Fish recipe for baby

fish recipe for baby
Fish porridge

This fish recipe for baby will provide your child with all the important nutrition that a baby needs for a healthy development: energy, fat, proteins, and vitamins. Rice is an energy carrier that is used as a staple food in Asian, Africa or South America. Salmon is a very fat fish that provides the human body with proteins, omega-3 fatty acids, and vitamin D.

age: 6 months and above

Ingredients:

- 3 to 4 tablespoons of Rice. My first choice is Jasmine Rice because of it's nice taste. Check out the Amazon link to see what others think about this rice.

- water about 1.5 cups / 400ml (depending on the type of rice you are using, some rice needs more water and some needs less)

- cod filet 1.5-2 ounces / 50g

- Some drops of La Tourangelle Toasted Sesame Oil. Of course you can use any other sesame oil but I like to use La Tourangelle's Sesame Oil because of its refined flavor. Compared to other Sesame Oils this one is also quite cheap!

How to cook:

Rice Cooker
1. Cook rice by adding the water. For your convenience you can also use a rice cooker and use its slow cooking option. The rice will be ready when you can't see the shape of the rice. Another good reason to use rice cookers: Some of them have a “porridge” option. If you do not own a rice cooker, just use a pot to cook, cover the pot and cook the rice on low heat. It will take around 1-2 hours until the rice is cooked.

2. Use a Hand Blender to mash the cod. Whenever I have things to mash I use my Hand Blender from Cuisineart. It's a very powerful and reliable tool. Another plus: It's easy to clean. Add the mashed cod filet to the ready-porridge, cook on low heat and stir constantly for 3-5 minutes until the fish is fully cooked.

3. Add 2-3 drops of toasted sesame oil and some spring onion (optional)
